Metro Shoes








As a Creative Director sometimes your creative idea is bigger than business and I had to make one such decision. I thank John, CEO of Whitespace Advertising, for supporting me on ethical grounds.
Client loved the ads and gave us a go ahead but with conditions apply..lol yep. He wanted to pay us the fees for the creative and buy it from us but release it through their regular empanelled agency. So it would be our creative but the other agency key no on the ad. which we declined..sigh!

Brief: Diwali season was 3 months away. The client wanted to introduce a a loyalty programme by introducing a Gold C for its regular members. But before that he wanted to run a teaser campaign for 3 months to communicate that soon you ll get a gold coin if you purchase worth a certain amount and a gold card on Diwali will be mailed to you which will offer a whole of freebees etc.

We worked the campaign and the client loved it. but the marketing team wasn't ready and there were lots of problems trying to initiate this type of an offer and card. And hence the campaign never saw the light of the day. It was a complete let down.

Well we ignored the brief. Reason: Here wan an opportunity to create an award winning campaign...but little did we know...NEVER IGNORE THE BRIEF. THE CLIENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

We came out with a whole set of great ideas which kept being rejected by the client, meeting after meeting. Finally in frustration I told Sandy, my art director, screw it. let's just do one single ad and show the product.Ensure it looks visually appealing with bare minimum headline.
Look what we struck in frustration.Worked wonders with the client and the ad generated a lot of walk-ins to the store and the sales went up during the campaign. Wonder why...lol

When I briefed my Art Director, Sandy on this campaign, all I told him was let your art speak volumes without saying a word. And that's exactly what he did. Sanghvi Star, a diamond jewellery brand, is the the centre point of a woman's beauty.

Ishis Jewellery Campaign





As kids we are always taught to be good human beings and to rise above greed, jealousy, selfishness, possesiveness and all the other negative thoughts.



However this campaign says the opposite. No matter how good you are when it comes to your jewellery, especially Ishis Diamonds, then all your good behaviour simply goes out of the window. Ishi's jewellery has the power to turn your values upside down as it is simply worth being possessive about.

I dedicate this to my ex boss- John Furtado, CEO White Space Advertising, without whom this campaign would not even come to an ideation stage. He believed in my capabilities and ideas so much that he kept rejecting and motivating me to think and write better. And that's how this campaign was created. The client liked the campaign but somewhere it got lost as John succumbed to a major illness. and the campaign never saw the light of the day. It is of my favourite campaigns and I am very proud of it.
